How well you score on the ASVAB depends on how much you have prepared for it, and it doesn’t only apply to taking the ASVAB but also to all other tests as well. In order to ace the ASVAB, you should start studying at least two months before the test.
Remember that your ASVAB score result will be the determining factor for the type of job you will have in the military. So if you’re eyeing a particular job, getting a high score should be a priority.
Here are tips we suggest you do to prepare yourself for the ASVAB:
1. Make a study schedule
Jumping on study sessions immediately may not be effective in the long term. What we suggest is to create a study schedule that perfectly fits your day-to-day activities before getting started on studying.
2. Take practice tests
If you’re not sure which sections you’re good and bad at, then you need to take practice tests first to see how well you do on each section. We have free practice tests readily available for everyone and can be taken for how many times you like.
Here are the links to the practice tests:
Paragraph Comprehension
Word Knowledge
Arithmetic Reasoning
3. Work on your weaknesses
After you have assessed yourself and have found out which sections you need more work on, you then adjust your study schedule and allot more time for sections you’re not really good at and focus on it.
4. Use test-taking techniques
It’s also important to use test-taking techniques to help you with the ASVAB. You should tackle each section of the ASVAB with a different strategy. If you’d like to know more about the different effective strategies for each section of the ASVAB, we can help you! You can send us an email and we can schedule a free review session with you.
